The COCA trial will take place at the Central Denmark Region's Prehospital Emergency Medical Services, which has 69 ambulances, 10 physician-manned ambulances, and 1 of the 4 national helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS).

Around 10% of the EMS-personnel are paramedics. This will steadily increase to 40% by 2030.
